DEVELOPMENT OF THE VIROVITIC LAKES AND CONSTRUCTION OF SPORTS RECREATION FACILITIES NEXT TO LAKES I, II, III and V

The main aim of this project was to renovate the Virovitic lakes (I, II, III and V lakes). We wanted to make certain interventions to improve area around lakes to attract visitors all year round. We analized spatial possibilities and attractions of the existing landscape and proposed routes for visitors with the most intense points of use.

Various facilities are settled in the green spaces conconnected by wooden bridges and pedestrian and bicycle paths in order to ensure easy access and safe movement of visitors around the site – facilities like: central building, sanitary blocks, wooden overhangs for picnickers with a barbecue area, fishing trail for competitions, piers above lake I, children’s and sports playgrounds, and terraced elevations oriented towards the lakes. The purpose of all contents is touristic and sports and recreational.

At Lake V, there will be a groundfloor central building “Fishing House” with additional facilities for judges, competitors, members of the sport fishing club and other visitors with a larger covered and uncovered area.

Natural materials were used in the design of all buildings in the area, as well as all external surfaces which were used according to the surrounding vegetation.
