Project year: 2014 – Preliminary design
Commissioner: UNDP Croatia
Client: City of Petrinja
Area: 10.000,00 sqm
The project “Preparing the ground for EU funds: Creating a pipeline of project ideas for Croatia’s less developed areas” was announced by UNDP Croatia and Ministry of Regional Development and EU fonds. It supported urban planning design for Children’s Learning Centre designed as an eco – ethno park promoting sustainability and environmental conservation.
The site was designed as an interactive space divided into functional circuits ranked from traditional elements to contemporary educational equipment emphasising ecological approach and the use of renewable energy sources. Participation in educational programs and “school in nature” teaches children historical, geographical, economic and local ethnic heritage. By further construction of accompanying facilities and activities preplanned by the project (educational, innovative, cultural and tourist) Children’s Research Center will, also, amass regional character.
