CIVIL CENTER WITH ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Project “Preparing the ground for EU funds: Creating a pipeline of project ideas for Croatia’s less developed areas” was announced by UNDP Croatia and Ministry of Regional Development and EU fonds. It supported reconstruction and conversion of two existing buildings located in historic center of Petrinja that are used by civil society organization Association IKS.

Existing structures form inner city courtyard and function as one complex. The main building features civic center that promotes voluntary work, development of civil society, social enterpreneurship and employment. The courtyard building accomodates facilities for international exchange programme.

Historical features, traditional materials and construction methods were respected and preserved, with some minor modern accents emphasizing the inevitable encounter of old and new.
